THE SEYRAC SERIES

The Opera Club
First in the Seyrac series. The books in the series have been named as Notable Books in Australia. This is the lovely story of Florence, eldest of five children living in a French-Australian family. Florence is sad that her father Jeremie seems to not have the right kind of job--every day he come back from the office and says, How I wish I were an opera singer! Florence takes him at his word, and decides to try and raise money, with her friends, to send him to opera school. But sometimes the best laid plans go awry..
The Cousin from France
Second in the Seyrac series. Florence's cousin Laurence is coming out to Australia on holiday. Everyone's excited, especially Florence. But Laurence does not turn out exactly how Florence thought she would be....
Winter in France
Third in the series. Florence and her family go back to France for a holiday.A white Christmas--a haunted house--a family secret revealed: it is an extraordinary holiday. Poignant and funny, melancholy and joyful, this is a Christmas bauble of a book, and very close to the author's heart.
The Secret
The Secret is the fourth novel in the Seyrac family series They are closely based on my childhood experiences, though I hasten to add
that they are not totally autobiographical! In this novel, Florence, the central
character, is caught up in a web of 'Polichinelle' secrets: or open secrets. Who is the
old lady in the secret garden? Why is Andy Jenkins such a pain? What will happen with the
restaurant the family are going to run? This is a gentle family story, a unique part of a
unique series about a migrant experience..and lots of fun!
