The Inverell Genealogical & Historical Society Inc assists the large number of local history and family history enthusiasts who are interested in preserving the history of the Inverell area. Inverell Genealogical & Historical Society Inc members work in co-operation with the Local History Section of the Inverell Shire Library as volunteers to assist the general public with queries relating to local history and individual family histories.   

The Society also has a vast range of resources at their disposal at Egan  House, 67 Vivian Street, Inverell.

The Society aims to help researchers get started on the history of their family and to provide information that researchers may need to complete a project.

Membership fees are $20 single and $30 family per year and there is no joining fee. A quarterly Newsletter is printed and distributed to all members and to other Societies with which we have an exchange agreement. A less detailed monthly E-newsletter is also sent out by E-mail to everyone who has asked to be recorded in our files as a recipient.

General meetings are held in Egan House at 1.30pm on the second Wednesday of each month.
